Although the world is full of suffering,
it is also full of the overcoming of it.

Meet Tarah Cambron

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, with additional education and certification in fitness and nutrition, and I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). I work with preteens, teens, college students, and adults to help reduce negative emotions and develop healthier ways of relating to themselves and others. I also offer nutritional therapy, focusing on the emotional, behavioral, and nutritional aspects of wellness.
Therapeutic Approach
My approach to therapy is eclectic and individualized, meaning I draw from variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches based on each client’s unique needs, goals, and circumstances. My work may incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Conflict Resolution, Person-Centered Therapy, and other therapeutic techniques.
I have experience working with preteens, teens, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, self-esteem concerns, mood disorders, disordered eating, and other life challenges. I am also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), which may be incorporate into treatment when clinically appropriate.
Above all, I believe therapy should feel collaborative, supportive, and tailored to you. Together, we will identify what is getting in the way, build on your strengths, and develop practical tools to help you create meaningful and lasting change.
Education & Experience
My educational background combines psychology, counseling, nutrition, and wellness. I earned my undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Hoston and graduated Magna Cum Laude with my Master’s degree in Psychology from Houston Baptist University. I completed my practicum training at Rice University, where I provided counseling services to students and faculty.
My background also includes education and training in nutrition and fitness. I have held certifications in group fitness through AFAA and personal training through NASM, and I was certified as a Nutritionist. This combination of mental health and nutritional education allows me to consider the emotional, behavioral, and physical aspects of wellness when working with patients.
My clinical experience includes working with individuals, couples, and families in outpatient counseling settings, as well as experience in mental health and addiction treatment. I have provided individual and group counseling and have experience working within Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) programs addressing mental health, substance use, and adolescent concerns.
A Little About Me
Life is busy, but when I am not working, I love spending time with my family. My husband and I have been married for more than 29 years, and I especially enjoy date nights and spending time with our 3 children. Movie nights are one of my favorite ways to relax, and I’m always happy to curl up with my hairless Sphynx cats~who often make an appearance at the office. I also enjoy spending time with my dogs and finding ways to give back to my community. I volunteer for CASA-advocating for children and families involved int the foster care system. My faith is an important part of my life, and I enjoy staying active, spending time outdoors, and appreciating the beauty of nature.
